The OSG 1752408 is a spiral flute tap designed for threading 10-24 UNC holes in tough materials. Built from powdered metal and finished with a TiCN (Titanium Carbon-Nitride) coating, it delivers increased wear resistance and lubricity compared to uncoated HSS taps. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading closer to the bottom of blind holes. Three right-hand spiral flutes pull chips up and out of the hole, reducing the risk of chip packing in interrupted or deep-hole applications. With an H3 thread limit and a 2B/3B class of fit, this tap produces threads within standard commercial and precision tolerance ranges.

This tap is suited for production and maintenance threading operations in alloy steel, stainless steel, hardened steel, titanium, and high-nickel alloys. The TiCN coating is particularly effective in abrasive and work-hardening materials where uncoated taps would wear prematurely.
