The OSG 17523611 is an extra length cobalt drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials. Built to Series 1750 standards, it features a 0.375 inch (3/8 inch) diameter with an overall length of approximately 11.42 inches (290 mm) and a flute length of approximately 8.66 inches (220 mm). The WXL coating improves surface hardness and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding production environments. A 120-degree standard point angle and R-thinned web reduce entry force and improve chip flow. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and maintenance professionals working with ferrous and high-strength alloys.
This extra length drill bit is used in applications where standard-length bits cannot reach - deep-hole drilling in castings, structural steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys. The fast spiral flute type promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep cuts. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters, making it compatible with drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools configured for 3/8 inch shank bits. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drilling operations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct sourcing option for extra length cobalt drill bit applications requiring a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank; fits standard 3/8 inch and larger drill chucks on drill presses, CNC machines, and compatible handheld power tools.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by machinists or qualified trade professionals familiar with metal-cutting operations. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck to the full depth of the chuck jaws to prevent runout and bit slippage during operation. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and RPM when drilling cobalt-grade tooling into hardened or high-strength materials.
