The OSG 17520111 is a Series 1750 extra length cobalt drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials. Built from M6K-grade cobalt with a WXL finish, it delivers increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The bit measures 0.2031 inches (13/64 inch shank) in diameter with a 120-degree standard point angle and a fast spiral flute configuration. It is suited for machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabrication professionals who need extended reach and reliable performance in ferrous and stainless applications. The 2-flute spiral design with R-thinned, tapered web reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation on deep-hole operations.
The OSG 17520111 is intended for precision drilling in metalworking environments including production machining, tool rooms, and MRO applications. The extra overall length of 7.087 inches (180 mm) with a 4.724-inch (120 mm) flute length makes it appropriate for reaching recessed features or drilling through thick stock where standard-length bits fall short. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press, CNC, and hand-held operations. This bit does not include coolant-through capability, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended for extended cuts in hard materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use extra length drill bit for standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 13/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank in Series 1750 tooling configurations.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling professional. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning any drilling operation. Always power down and de-energize the machine spindle before changing tooling. Apply appropriate cutting fluid externally, as this bit does not support coolant-through delivery, and follow facility safety protocols for chip management and eye protection.
