The OSG 1625014204 is a thread forming tap designed for cold-forming internal threads without cutting chips. It produces a 1/4-20 UNC thread to a 3B class of fit with a modified bottoming chamfer of 2.5 to 3 threads. The tap is manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel and carries a TiCN coating for heat and wear resistance at elevated cutting temperatures. Overall length is 3.1496 inches with a thread length of 0.5264 inches and a tapping depth of 1.2070 inches. The shank diameter measures 0.2550 inches. The H4 thread limit provides controlled oversize for plating applications or tight-tolerance work.
