The OSG 1400134500 is a thread forming tap in the HY-PRO NRT series, designed for cold-forming internal threads in blind holes without cutting chips. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a bright finish, it produces a 3/8-16 UNC right-hand thread to a Class 3B fit at an H5 thread limit. The bottoming chamfer of 1 to 1.5 threads allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole. Overall length is 2.9380 inches with a tapping depth of 1.2520 inches. Machinists and tool-room professionals install this tap in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses where chip-free threading is required.
