The OSG 1400121000 is a thread forming tap designed for 10-32 UNF right-hand threads in blind hole applications. Unlike cutting taps, thread forming taps displace material rather than cut it, producing stronger threads with no chips to clear. This tap features a modified bottoming chamfer with 2 to 2.5 chamfered threads, allowing it to thread close to the bottom of a blind hole. Made from cobalt high-speed steel with a bright finish, it carries a H10 thread limit and measures 2.375 inches in overall length.
