The OSG 1212501 is a spiral point tap designed for cutting right-hand internal threads in a wide range of metallic workpiece materials. Built from high-speed steel with a steam oxide coating, this tap produces 6-32 UNC threads to a 2B class of fit with an H3 thread limit. The bottoming chamfer style allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole. With a 2-inch overall length and an 11/16-inch thread length, the 1212501 is suited for production and maintenance machining applications where consistent thread form and close-tolerance fit are required. Machinists and toolroom professionals are the primary users.

This tap is intended for use on a broad range of materials including aluminum, cast aluminum, cast iron, low-carbon steel, medium-carbon steel, high-carbon steel, and hardened steel.
