The OSG 11556115 is a screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit features a 0.2559-inch (6.50 mm) diameter, a 120-degree faceted drill point, and a right-hand spiral flute configuration. The shorter screw machine length body improves rigidity and reduces deflection compared to jobber-length bits, making it well suited for precision hole-making on manual mills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers. A web-thinned, tapered web design reduces entry force and improves chip evacuation at the cutting tip.
This drill bit is engineered for use on steel, alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate workpiece materials. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry make it a practical choice for short-hole drilling cycles where rigidity and accuracy are priorities. It carries an 8.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank diameter, an overall length of approximately 2.95 inches (75.00 mm), and a flute length of approximately 1.22 inches (31.00 mm). Machinists and tool-and-die professionals will find this bit appropriate for production and maintenance drilling tasks.
Designed for drilling into steel, alloy steel, aluminum, aluminum alloy, and aluminum silicate. Part of the OSG Series 1150 high-performance screw machine drill line, sized in the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch (6.50 to 8.00 mm) diameter range.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die professionals familiar with drilling operations. Power down and lock out the machine before inserting or removing the bit from the toolholder or chuck. Verify that the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is properly tightened before initiating a cut. Coolant-through capability is not supported on this bit, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied as appropriate for the workpiece material.
