Product Description

The OSG 1105200108 is a straight flute machine tap designed for threading M6x1.00 metric coarse holes in production and maintenance machining environments. Built from powdered metal and finished with a TiCN coating, this tap delivers improved hardness and wear resistance compared to standard high-speed steel tools. It features a bottoming chamfer, allowing threads to be cut close to the bottom of blind holes. The 3-flute design provides strong chip control in shorter-chipping materials. With a 6H class of fit and D5 thread limit, it produces threads to standard metric tolerance specifications. Overall length is 2.5 inches with a 1 inch thread length.

This tap is intended for use in machining aluminum and cast iron workpieces. The bottoming chamfer style makes it well suited for blind-hole applications where full thread depth near the hole bottom is required. It fits standard machine tap holders and is appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and tapping arms where controlled feed and speed can be maintained.
