The OSG 1025302 is a straight flute bottoming tap designed to cut internal threads in blind and through holes where full thread depth is required close to the bottom of the hole. Manufactured from high-speed steel, this tap produces 10-32 UNF right-hand threads to a 2B class of fit with an H3 thread limit. It features 4 flutes and a bottoming chamfer, making it the right choice when a plug or taper tap has already started the thread and full thread engagement to the bottom of a blind hole is needed. Overall length is 2.375 inches with a thread length of 0.875 inches. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians install this tap by hand or with a tapping machine.
The OSG 1025302 is suited for threading operations in both production and maintenance environments. Its bottoming chamfer geometry allows threading to within 1-2 threads of the hole bottom, which is critical in tight-tolerance assemblies. This tap is rated for use in aluminum, cast aluminum, cast iron, high-carbon steel, low-carbon steel, and medium-carbon steel. It is a strong fit for general metalworking applications including machine repair, fixture building, and component fabrication where 10-32 UNF fastener threads are required.
Rated for use in aluminum, cast aluminum, cast iron, high-carbon steel, low-carbon steel, and medium-carbon steel. Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use straight flute bottoming tap for applications requiring 10-32 UNF internal threads.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician should install this tap. Before tapping, ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the pilot hole diameter is correct for a 10-32 UNF thread. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tap life and improve thread quality. Do not force the tap if resistance increases unexpectedly - back off to clear chips and prevent tap breakage.
