The OSBORN 0005644100 is a helical power tube brush designed for cleaning, deburring, and surface finishing inside tubes, bores, and cylindrical passages. The brush features a nylon fill loaded with aluminum oxide abrasive at 600 grit, placing it in the super fine grade category. The 0.64-inch brush diameter and 0.169-inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard rotary tools and drill chucks. The 1-inch brush length provides focused contact within the bore, while the 5-inch overall length gives adequate reach for most tube and port cleaning tasks. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and mechanical contractors use this type of brush for tube prep, light scale removal, and bore surface conditioning prior to fitting or brazing.
This power tube brush is suited for use in residential and light commercial maintenance applications. Typical uses include cleaning heat exchanger tubes, refrigerant line ports, hydraulic bore passages, and small-diameter piping ends before assembly or inspection. The helical configuration helps distribute abrasive contact evenly around the interior bore wall as the brush rotates, making it effective for consistent surface prep on copper, aluminum, and similar soft metal tubing.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-purpose power tube brush for use with standard rotary tools, drill presses, and hand drills accepting a 0.169-inch shank diameter.
This brush is installed into a rotary tool, drill, or drill press by inserting the shank into the appropriate chuck or collet and securing firmly before operation. Always wear appropriate eye protection when operating rotary abrasive brushes. Confirm the tool RPM rating is compatible with the brush before use, and do not apply excessive lateral force that could deflect or damage the nylon fill. A licensed technician or qualified mechanic should perform any tube prep work that is part of a refrigerant, gas, or pressurized fluid system.
