The OSBORN 0001131700 is a crimped wire wheel brush designed for deburring, surface preparation, cleaning, and light material removal on metal workpieces. Built with stainless steel fill material, it resists corrosion and is well suited for use on stainless steel substrates where iron contamination from carbon steel wire must be avoided. The brush mounts via a standard arbor hole and spins at up to 20,000 RPM, making it compatible with die grinders and bench grinders in typical shop and field applications. Fabricators, pipefitters, maintenance mechanics, and metalworkers use this style of brush for weld bead cleanup, scale removal, and surface conditioning prior to inspection or coating.
This wheel brush is used in light industrial, fabrication, and maintenance applications where a crimped wire configuration provides a more flexible, controlled cut than knotted wire. The 3-inch outside diameter and 3/8-inch face width suit it to detail work on pipe ends, weld seams, and machined surfaces. It is installed on arbor-mount grinders and finishing tools as a standard consumable in metal fabrication shops, HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in, and general maintenance environments. No shank is included; the arbor hole mount is the sole attachment method.
Designed for use on arbor-mount die grinders and bench grinders accepting a 5/8-inch arbor hole. No specific OEM equipment compatibility data was provided by the manufacturer for this SKU.
Installation should be performed by a qualified technician familiar with abrasive wheel mounting procedures. Always de-energize and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the brush. Verify that the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 20,000 RPM maximum rating stamped or listed on the brush before operation. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves, and confirm the arbor nut is torqued to the grinder manufacturer specification before running the tool.
