The ORTRONICS MC18B605-09 is a Cat6 patch cord terminated with a 110-style connector on one end and an RJ-45 (Mod8) connector on the other, wired to the TIA/EIA-568B standard. At 5 feet in length, it is suited for short structured-cabling runs inside telecom closets, patch panels, or equipment racks. Cat6 construction supports Gigabit Ethernet and meets the performance requirements for 10/100/1000BASE-T applications. Network technicians and low-voltage cabling installers are the typical end users for this type of interconnect cable.
This cord is commonly used to connect 110-style punch-down patch panels to RJ-45 ports on switches, routers, or structured-cabling distribution frames. The 5-foot length is a standard choice for same-rack or adjacent-rack connections in commercial and residential structured-wiring installations. It is sold as a single unit and is ready to install out of the package with no field termination required.
Designed as an OEM-style interconnect for use with 110-style patch panels and standard RJ-45 ports in Cat6 structured-cabling systems.
Installation is performed by licensed low-voltage or structured-cabling technicians in accordance with TIA-568 and applicable local codes. No tools are required for installation of this factory-terminated cord. Ensure the patch panel and network equipment are powered down or ports are inactive before seating connectors to avoid data interruption. Do not exceed the minimum bend radius of the cable during routing to maintain Cat6 performance integrity.
