The ORTRONICS LN-CAB-QDD-AOC-12M is an active optical cable (AOC) designed for high-density data center and network infrastructure applications. AOC assemblies use internal optical fiber with integrated transceivers at each end, eliminating the need for separate pluggable optics. This cable is built around a QSFP-DD (Quad Small Form-factor Double Density) interface, which supports high-port-density switch and router connections. Network engineers and low-voltage cabling contractors typically install this type of assembly in top-of-rack and inter-rack cabling scenarios where reach and signal integrity are priorities over copper-based alternatives.
This 12-meter AOC is suited for structured cabling runs within data centers, telecom rooms, and enterprise network environments. QSFP-DD AOC assemblies at this length are common in spine-leaf architectures and high-bandwidth server interconnects where passive direct-attach copper cables fall short on reach. Installation does not require field termination, as the transceivers are factory-integrated into the cable assembly.
Designed as an OEM-compatible replacement or direct-fit active optical cable for QSFP-DD port applications in high-density switching and routing equipment.
Installation should be performed by a qualified low-voltage cabling technician or network engineer. Power down or administratively disable the host port before inserting or removing the QSFP-DD connector to avoid hot-swap damage where not supported. Do not exceed the minimum bend radius specified for the cable during routing. Follow TIA-568 or applicable structured cabling standards for data center pathway and cable management practices.
