The OREGON TOOL S54 is a 16-inch semi-chisel chainsaw chain engineered for smooth, consistent cutting in residential and light-duty landscaping applications. Built with hard-chromed cutters and hardened rivets, the S54 resists wear and reduces the frequency of chain adjustments. It runs a 3/8-inch pitch with a .050-inch gauge and is compatible with all chainsaw brands spec'd to those dimensions. The chain features precision heat-treating on the semi-chisel cutters, which provides a higher tolerance for debris encountered in typical yard and property maintenance work. The built-in Lubri-Tec oiling system channels oil to critical chain contact points during operation, extending service life and reducing downtime between maintenance intervals.
The S54 is suited for gas-powered chainsaws up to 42 cc displacement. It is a practical choice for landscapers, arborists working with light timber, and homeowners who run small, low-powered saws for pruning, limb removal, and firewood cutting. The low-kickback, low-vibration design reduces user fatigue during extended cutting sessions. This chain must be paired with a narrow kerf bar; do not use it with standard kerf bars, as mismatched kerf combinations will cause premature wear and unsafe operating conditions.
Fits all chainsaw brands that use a 3/8-inch pitch and .050-inch gauge specification with a 16-inch bar. Designed for saws up to 42 cc displacement. Must be used with a narrow kerf bar.
Chain installation should be performed by a qualified operator or outdoor power equipment technician with the saw fully powered down and the spark plug wire disconnected before handling the bar or chain. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling chainsaw chain. Verify bar groove width matches the .050-inch gauge before installation, and confirm the drive link count against the bar specifications. After installing, tension the chain according to the saw manufacturer's guidelines and confirm proper bar oil flow before beginning any cutting operation.
