The OREGON TOOL S53 is a 14-inch semi-chisel chainsaw chain engineered for low-kickback, low-vibration cutting performance. The hard-chromed cutters bite aggressively into wood while the precision heat-treated semi-chisel profile maintains cutting efficiency even when debris is present. At 0.529 pounds, the chain is lightweight and sized for saws up to 42 cc. It carries a 3/8-inch pitch and .050-inch gauge, making it compatible with a wide range of small-to-mid-size gas chainsaws. The built-in Lubri-Tec automatic oiling system delivers lubricant to critical chain contact points during operation, extending service life and reducing the frequency of adjustments. Hardened rivets and a tough chrome outer layer further minimize wear over extended use.
The S53 is suited for residential and light landscaping applications where a compact, low-powered saw handles routine tasks such as limbing, pruning, and small-log bucking. Landscapers and homeowners running small saws in the 25 cc to 42 cc range will find this chain well matched to intermittent to moderate-duty cutting cycles. Because it is a narrow-kerf chain, it must be paired with a narrow-kerf guide bar. Using it on a standard-kerf bar is not recommended and will affect performance and safety.
Designed for all chainsaw brands running a 3/8-inch pitch and .050-inch gauge guide bar. Intended for saw engines up to 42 cc. Must be used with a narrow-kerf guide bar.
Chain installation should be performed by a knowledgeable operator with the saw engine off and the spark plug wire disconnected. Wear cut-resistant gloves when handling bare chain. Confirm the bar groove width matches the .050-inch gauge before installation, and adjust chain tension according to the saw manufacturer specifications before first use. Always verify low-kickback bar and chain pairing is maintained when replacing components.
