The ORBIT INDUSTRIES SREC-100 is a steel rigid-to-EMT compression coupling designed to connect threaded rigid or IMC conduit to EMT conduit in a single fitting. One end features female threading to accept rigid or IMC pipe, while the opposite end uses a compression nut to secure EMT conduit without threading. The steel body with zinc plating delivers solid mechanical protection for conductors while resisting corrosion in typical installation environments. Electricians use this fitting where conduit transitions from rigid to EMT runs, a common scenario in commercial and industrial rough-in work.
This coupling is suited for 1-inch conduit transitions in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations. It is particularly useful in situations where a conduit run changes from a rigid or IMC section to an EMT section, such as at panel entries, junction boxes, or mid-run transitions where conduit type changes due to routing constraints or code requirements. The compression-style EMT end speeds up installation by eliminating the need to thread both sides of the joint.
Designed as an OEM-style transition fitting for 1-inch threaded rigid or IMC conduit joined to 1-inch EMT conduit in standard electrical raceway systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and confirm power is off before working on any conduit system. Thread the rigid or IMC end fully onto the conduit before tightening the compression nut on the EMT side to ensure a secure, continuous raceway. Do not over-tighten the compression nut to the point of deforming the EMT conduit wall.
