The ORBIT INDUSTRIES MT-100 is a malleable iron threaded conduit body in the T configuration, designed for use in electrical conduit systems where a tee-style junction or pull point is required. Constructed from zinc-plated malleable iron, this conduit body offers high tensile strength combined with ductility, making it resistant to impact and shock loads common in commercial and industrial wiring environments. The 1-inch trade size fits standard 1-inch threaded conduit runs. Smooth, rounded integral bushings are built in to protect wire insulation from abrasion during wire pull. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
The MT-100 is suited for use in exposed or concealed conduit installations where a T-body fitting is needed to provide a pull point, splice point, or branch junction in a rigid metal conduit or intermediate metal conduit system. The T configuration allows conduit to enter from two opposing sides and one perpendicular port, making it a practical solution for branch circuit routing in commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical installations. The zinc plating provides corrosion resistance for use in general-duty environments.
Interchangeable with Appleton Form 35 and Cooper Crouse-Hinds Form 5 conduit bodies. Designed for use with 1-inch trade size threaded rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits and verify the absence of voltage before opening or working within any conduit body. Ensure threaded connections are fully engaged and the cover gasket is seated properly before returning the system to service. Do not exceed the conduit body fill capacity as defined by NEC Article 314.
