The OPTICAL CABLE CORP. D5LC-LC-1M is a duplex fiber optic patch cable with LC connectors on both ends, designed for short-run multimode fiber connections in structured cabling and network environments. Built around 50-micron multimode fiber, this 1-meter cable delivers reliable light transmission between active equipment ports. The duplex configuration carries two independent fiber strands in one jacket, supporting simultaneous bidirectional data transmission. Licensed electricians, low-voltage cabling technicians, and network infrastructure installers typically deploy this cable during equipment rack builds and switch-to-patch-panel terminations.
This patch cable is suited for data center, server room, and commercial telecommunications room applications where LC-port equipment requires short multimode fiber jumpers. The 50-micron core pairs with OM2, OM3, or OM4 multimode fiber plant infrastructure. At 1 meter in length, it is primarily used for within-rack or adjacent-rack connections between transceivers, fiber switches, media converters, and patch panels. The orange jacket indicates multimode fiber type, consistent with industry color-coding conventions for field identification.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install patch cable for multimode fiber systems using LC-port transceivers, switches, patch panels, and media converters.
Installation is performed by low-voltage cabling technicians or licensed electricians in accordance with TIA-568 structured cabling standards. Before connecting or disconnecting fiber patch cables, power down associated transceivers where possible and avoid looking directly into any fiber end face. Use appropriate fiber cleaning tools on LC connectors before insertion to prevent contamination-related signal loss. Do not bend the cable beyond its minimum bend radius, and avoid pinching or kinking the jacket during routing.
