The OPTEX HX-40DAM is a high-mount outdoor passive infrared (PIR) motion detector designed for perimeter security and access monitoring applications. Mounted at elevated positions, typically around 10 feet, the unit projects a 40-by-50-foot detection zone to cover wide exterior areas. The detector senses infrared energy changes caused by moving persons or large objects within the coverage pattern. It is installed by security technicians and licensed electricians on commercial and residential exteriors where reliable outdoor motion detection is required.

The HX-40DAM is suited for outdoor environments where conventional low-mount PIR sensors cannot achieve adequate coverage.
