The ONSRUD 91-000 is an indexable spoilboard surface insert cutter designed for CNC routing applications where maintaining a flat, true spoilboard surface is essential. The cutter accepts two ICK L 142 style inserts secured by screws, allowing worn cutting edges to be indexed or replaced without removing the full tool body from service. It features a 1.25-inch cutting diameter, a 0.5-inch shank diameter, and an overall length of 2 inches. The carbide-tipped insert design delivers consistent surface quality across MDF, plywood, and other composite spoilboard materials. This tool is installed and operated by CNC router technicians and woodworking shop professionals.
The ONSRUD 91-000 is suited for surfacing and flattening spoilboards on CNC router tables in production woodworking, sign-making, and fabrication environments. It handles straight cuts in a right-hand cutting direction and is intended for use in machines with a 0.5-inch collet. The maximum cutting depth per pass is 0.125 inches, making it appropriate for light, controlled skim-cut passes that restore spoilboard flatness without excessive material removal.
Designed for use with ICK L 142 style carbide inserts (compatible insert size code 142). Fits CNC routers equipped with a 0.5-inch collet. Verify insert style and shank collet size against your machine specifications before ordering.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC operator or tooling technician with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per LOTO procedures. Ensure the collet and shank mating surfaces are clean and free of debris before seating the tool. When indexing or replacing inserts, use the correct screw-drive tool to achieve proper insert clamping torque as specified by the insert manufacturer. Set cutting depth conservatively for initial spoilboard surfacing passes and verify runout before full production use.
