The ONSRUD 67-815 is a jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in composite materials. Built from solid carbide with a bright uncoated finish, it delivers the hardness and edge retention needed when working through fiber-reinforced plastics, laminates, and similar composite substrates. The 118-degree drill point angle features an 8-facet grind and web thinning for cleaner entry and reduced thrust. At 3.25 inches overall length with a 2-inch flute, it fits standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders alike. This bit is part of the ONSRUD Series 67-800, a line aimed at general-purpose composite drilling applications.
The 67-815 is suited for drilling composite panels, stacked composite assemblies, and similar non-metallic materials in production or field settings. With a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank and a 2-inch maximum drilling depth, it fits directly into standard drill chucks or collet-style toolholders without adapters. The 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides adequate chip evacuation in through-hole applications. This bit is typically deployed by fabricators, aerospace technicians, and composite repair specialists working on structural panels or layups where clean hole geometry matters.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for drilling composite workpiece materials, part of the ONSRUD Series 67-800. Fits any standard chuck or collet accepting a 0.250-inch straight cylindrical shank.
Install in a drill press, CNC spindle, or handheld drill with a collet or chuck rated for the 1/4-inch shank diameter. Verify the tool is fully seated and the chuck is tightened before operation. When drilling composites, use appropriate feed and speed settings to prevent delamination or heat buildup at the drill point. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and a dust mask rated for composite particulate.
