The ONSRUD 67-212 is a solid carbide downcut spiral router bit designed for precision cutting in phenolic materials. It features a 0.5-inch cutter diameter, a 1.125-inch length of cut, and a three-edge router style with a 10-degree helix angle. The downcut flute geometry pushes chips toward the workpiece surface, helping to produce clean top-edge finishes and reduce delamination in laminate and phenolic sheet goods. With a 0.5-inch shank diameter and an overall length of 3.5 inches, this bit mounts in standard router collets and CNC spindles. It is uncoated and runs right-hand cutting direction. Fabricators and CNC operators working with composite sheet materials will find this bit suited for production routing applications.
This bit is intended for routing phenolic sheet, laminate composites, and similar engineered materials in fabrication shop and CNC router environments. The downcut spiral is well suited to applications where surface finish on the top face of the workpiece is the priority, such as countertop fabrication, panel processing, or fixture building. It is not piloted and is designed for plunge or peripheral cutting passes in a controlled CNC or hand-router setup.
Designed for use in phenolic and composite sheet material applications. Part of the ONSRUD 67-200 series of solid carbide downcut spiral router bits. Fits standard 0.5-inch collets on CNC routers and handheld router systems.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and fully de-energize the spindle before changing tooling. Insert the shank to the recommended collet engagement depth per the router or CNC manufacturer's guidelines, and torque the collet nut with the appropriate collet wrench - do not use pliers or pipe wrenches. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production use, and ensure feed rate and RPM are set to values appropriate for the material and bit diameter.
