The ONSRUD 66-947ALTIN is a solid carbide diamond pattern router bit designed for high-performance cutting in composite materials. With a 0.5-inch cutter diameter and a 3.125-inch length of cut, this end mill delivers aggressive material removal while maintaining clean edge quality. The AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life under the heat generated during composite routing. At 5 inches overall length with a 0.5-inch shank, this bit is sized for CNC machine spindles and is run by CNC operators and skilled technicians working with composite panels and laminates.
This router bit is intended for use in CNC machining applications involving composite materials such as fiberglass, carbon fiber, and similar engineered panels. The diamond pattern geometry and right-hand cutting direction make it suited for through-cuts, profiling, and contour routing where clean edges and reduced delamination are critical. It is part of the ONSRUD 66-900 series, which is designed specifically for composite routing operations in production and fabrication environments.
Designed for use in CNC machines with a 0.5-inch collet or tool holder. Intended for routing composite materials. Part of the ONSRUD 66-900 series.
Installation is performed by CNC operators or tooling technicians. Power down and de-energize the CNC machine spindle completely before changing tooling. Seat the 0.5-inch shank fully and evenly in a clean, properly sized collet to avoid runout. Follow the machine manufacturer and tool manufacturer feed and speed recommendations for composite materials to avoid premature coating wear or bit breakage.
