The ONSRUD 66-328 is a solid carbide spiral upcut router bit designed for material removal in aluminum and plastics. With a 0.75-inch cutter diameter and a 1.125-inch length of cut, it evacuates chips upward out of the cut, reducing heat buildup and keeping the flutes clear during machining. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action, while the right-hand cutting direction suits standard CNC and handheld router spindle rotation. At 4 inches overall length with a 3/4-inch shank diameter, it seats securely in collet-style toolholding systems. This bit is intended for use by machinists, CNC operators, and fabricators working with non-ferrous metals and thermoplastics.
The ONSRUD 66-328 is suited for bottom-surfacing router operations on aluminum and plastics in both production shop and job-site environments. The 2.875-inch shank length provides ample engagement in the collet for stability during extended cuts. The 0.04-inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge and helps extend tool life in continuous-pass applications. This bit is part of the ONSRUD 66-300 series, which targets non-ferrous and plastic routing applications at production volumes.
Designed for use with aluminum and plastics as stated by the manufacturer. Part of the ONSRUD 66-300 series. Fits standard 3/4-inch collet toolholding on CNC routers and handheld router platforms.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator with the spindle fully powered down and locked out before tool changes. Seat the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the collet manufacturer's specified torque range - never use a worn or undersized collet with a carbide bit. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the right-hand cutting geometry of this tool before engaging the workpiece. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use; carbide is brittle and a damaged edge can cause tool failure.
