The ONSRUD 66-315 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for precise cutting in aluminum and plastics. With a 0.25-inch cutter diameter and a 0.375-inch length of cut, this bit removes chips upward and away from the workpiece, helping to keep cutting edges clear and improving surface finish in softer non-ferrous and synthetic materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth chip evacuation during production routing. It is uncoated and engineered for use in CNC routing applications where tight tolerances and clean cuts are required. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and fabrication shops are the primary users of this tooling.

This bit is suited for routing aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusions as well as a range of plastics including acrylic, HDPE, and similar thermoplastics. Installation Notes

This bit is installed and changed by CNC operators or machinists following standard tooling procedures. Power down and de-energize the spindle completely before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the collet to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth and verify collet nut torque using appropriate tooling before resuming operation. Inspect the bit for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fail without visible warning if run in incorrect materials or at improper feed and speed settings.
