The ONSRUD 65-235B is a solid carbide spiral upcut router bit designed for cutting plastics in CNC routing and machining applications. With a 5/16-inch (0.3125-inch) cutter diameter and a 1/2-inch length of cut, this bit delivers clean chip evacuation by pulling chips upward and away from the workpiece. The 30-degree helix angle supports efficient cutting action, reducing heat buildup in thermoplastic and similar materials. At 3 inches overall length with a 2.5-inch shank length, it fits standard CNC router collets. Right-hand cutting direction and an uncoated solid carbide construction make it a reliable choice for production routing environments.
This bit is intended for use in CNC routing of plastics, including acrylic, UHMW, polycarbonate, and similar materials where clean edge quality and efficient chip removal are required. The upcut flute geometry is well suited for through-cuts and deep-pocket operations where chip packing is a concern. It fits into standard 5/16-inch collets and is appropriate for both production shops and job-shop environments running plastic fabrication work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC routers equipped with 5/16-inch collets, used in plastic routing applications within the ONSRUD 65-200B series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the bit. Seat the shank fully and securely in the collet to the recommended insertion depth before tightening. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the material and bit diameter before initiating a cut.
