The ONSRUD 64-000 is a downcut spiral router bit machined from solid carbide for use in CNC routers and manual routing applications. With a 0.0625 inch cutter diameter and a 0.25 inch length of cut, this bit is designed for fine detail work and narrow slot cutting in soft and composite materials. The single-edge, right-hand cutting geometry combined with a 21-degree helix angle directs chips downward, keeping the top surface of the workpiece clean and reducing tearout. At 2 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch shank diameter, it fits standard collet systems found in CNC routers and trim routers used by woodworking shops, plastics fabricators, and composite panel installers.
This bit is suited for routing aluminum, plastics, solid surfaces, and wood in both shop and production environments. The downcut flute design is especially useful when surface finish on the entry face is critical, such as finish routing laminated panels, acrylic sheet, or hardwood veneer substrates. The small cutter diameter makes it practical for intricate profiles, narrow channels, and detail cuts where larger bits cannot access. It is sold individually and is appropriate for use in production CNC routing as well as bench-top router setups requiring precision small-diameter tooling.
Compatible with routers and CNC machines fitted with a 1/8 inch collet or collet reducer. Designed for routing aluminum, plastics, solid surfaces, and wood as stated in manufacturer specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Always power down and de-energize the router spindle before inserting or removing tooling. Insert the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the router or spindle manufacturer's specified collet torque procedure. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the material and cutter diameter before initiating a cut.
