The ONSRUD 63-768 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for precision cutting in thermoplastic and engineered plastic materials. With a 3/16-inch (0.1875 inches) cutter diameter and a 5/8-inch (0.625 inches) length of cut, this bit delivers clean chip evacuation and tight tolerances in thin-wall and sheet plastic applications. The single-edge, right-hand cutting geometry with a 21-degree helix angle promotes smooth surface finishes while pulling chips up and away from the workpiece. The 1/4-inch shank and 2-inch overall length make it compatible with standard CNC router and handheld router collets used across production and fabrication shops.
This bit is optimized for routing ABS, Acetal, Acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, Solid Surfaces, and UHMW. It is well suited for profiling, slotting, and through-cutting operations in plastic sheet goods, sign blanks, and fabricated components. The upcut flute design is particularly effective when chip buildup in the cut channel is a concern, such as in deep-pocket or full-depth passes through sheet stock. It is part of the ONSRUD 63-750 Series of plastic-specific spiral bits.
Designed for use with ABS, Acetal, Acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, Solid Surfaces, and UHMW. Part of the ONSRUD 63-750 Series. Not piloted. Compatible with 1/4-inch collet routers and CNC spindles.
Install in a 1/4-inch collet and torque to the router or spindle manufacturer specification before operation. Ensure the collet and taper are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Feed rate, spindle speed, and depth of cut should be set per ONSRUD published feeds-and-speeds data for the specific plastic material being cut.
