The ONSRUD 63-763 is a single-edge upcut spiral router bit machined from solid carbide, designed for high-speed routing of thermoplastic sheet and block materials. The upcut flute geometry pulls chips up and away from the workpiece, keeping the cut path clear and reducing heat buildup at the tip. With a 0.125-inch cutting diameter and a 0.5-inch length of cut, this bit is built for precise, small-diameter work in CNC router applications. The 1/8-inch shank seats into standard collets at a 1.5-inch shank length, and the 21-degree right-hand helix produces a clean shear angle through common plastics. Installed by CNC machinists and fabrication shops working in production environments.
The 63-763 targets routing of thermoplastic materials including ABS, Acetal, Acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, Solid Surfaces, and UHMW. It is suited for slotting, profiling, and through-cutting operations where chip evacuation is critical to edge quality. The single-flute design runs at higher RPM with less chip load per pass, making it effective for thin-wall and detailed geometry work in plastic sheet fabrication. No pilot bearing is included, making this a freehand or fixture-guided CNC bit.
Rated for use in ABS, Acetal, Acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, Solid Surfaces, and UHMW. Part of the ONSRUD 63-750 series of single-edge upcut spiral bits. Accepts standard 1/8-inch collets.
Installation is performed by a CNC machinist or tooling technician with the spindle fully powered down and the machine in a safe, locked-out state before bit changes. Seat the shank fully into a clean, undamaged 1/8-inch collet and torque the collet nut to the router manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edge and shank for runout or chipping before each production run. Do not exceed the router or spindle manufacturer's rated RPM for this shank diameter.
