The ONSRUD 63-731 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for cutting plastics and hard materials including acrylic, nylon, PVC, polycarbonate, and solid surfaces. It features a single-edge design with a 21-degree helix angle and a right-hand cutting direction. The 0.375-inch cutter diameter pairs with a 0.75-inch length of cut, making it well suited for controlled, precise passes in sheet goods and fabricated plastic components. At 3 inches overall length with a 2.25-inch shank, this bit fits standard collet setups used in CNC routing and handheld router applications. The uncoated solid carbide construction provides durability and clean chip evacuation on the materials in its rated application range.
The 63-731 is intended for use on plastic fabrication work including acrylic signage, PVC trim, polycarbonate panels, nylon components, and solid surface materials. It is commonly used in CNC router tables in light industrial and fabrication shop environments where consistent edge quality and chip clearance on hard plastics are priorities. The upcut flute geometry pulls chips up and away from the cut, reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge and helping maintain workpiece integrity on through-cuts and profiling operations.
Designed for use with 3/8-inch collets on CNC routers and handheld routers. Rated material applications include acrylic, nylon, PVC, polycarbonate, and solid surfaces. Part of the ONSRUD 63-700 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with router tooling. Power down and de-energize the router spindle completely before changing tooling. Insert the shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth and tighten according to the collet manufacturer specification. Verify spindle speed is set appropriately for the material and bit diameter before initiating a cut.
