The ONSRUD 63-611 is a single-edge upcut spiral router bit machined from solid carbide and designed for cutting aluminum. It features a 0.1563-inch cutter diameter with a 0.3125-inch length of cut and a 3/16-inch shank diameter. The 22-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction drive chips upward and away from the workpiece, keeping the cutting zone clear during operation. Overall length is 2 inches with a shank length of 1.6875 inches. This bit is used by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments where clean, accurate cuts in aluminum are required.
The 63-611 is suited for CNC router applications in light-metal fabrication, sign making, and aerospace component work where aluminum stock is the primary material. Its compact 0.1563-inch diameter makes it appropriate for detail passes, slotting, and profiling in thin or narrow-feature aluminum workpieces. The uncoated solid carbide construction performs well in aluminum without the buildup risk associated with coated tooling on non-ferrous metals.
Designed for use in CNC routers and routing machines accepting a 3/16-inch shank; part of the ONSRUD 63-600 series, rated for aluminum material application.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Power down and de-energize the spindle fully before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and securely in the collet to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth to prevent pullout during operation. Inspect the bit for chips or edge damage before each use; solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used if any fracture is visible.
