The ONSRUD 63-606 is a single-edge upcut spiral router bit ground from solid carbide for cutting aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials. It carries a 0.125 inch cutter diameter with a 0.25 inch length of cut, a 1/4 inch shank diameter, and a 2 inch overall length. The upcut geometry evacuates chips aggressively toward the top of the workpiece, reducing heat buildup and recutting in shallow-pocket and through-cut applications. At 0.05 pounds, the bit is sized for high-speed spindles on CNC routers and automated machining centers where tight tolerances and clean edge quality are required in aluminum stock.
This bit is designed for machining aluminum in production CNC routing environments. The 22-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction suit through-cutting, slotting, and profiling passes in aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusion. The 1.75 inch shank length provides solid tool holding grip in standard 1/4 inch collet systems. It is appropriate for use in both industrial CNC machining centers and high-speed handheld routing fixtures where aluminum is the primary workpiece material.
Designed for use in CNC routers and machining centers equipped with a standard 1/4 inch collet. Material application is aluminum as specified by the manufacturer for the 63-600 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC operator or machinist. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the bit from the collet. Seat the shank fully into the collet and torque the collet nut to the spindle manufacturer's specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each production run, as carbide tooling can fracture if run at incorrect feeds and speeds.
