The ONSRUD 63-520 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for precision cutting in hard materials and acrylic. It features a 3/16-inch (0.1875 inches) cutter diameter and a 5/8-inch (0.625 inches) length of cut, with a 1/4-inch shank for compatibility with standard router chucks. The upcut flute geometry pulls chips and debris upward and away from the cut, which helps maintain a clean cutting edge and reduces heat buildup during operation. With a 2-inch overall length and uncoated solid carbide construction, this bit delivers consistent performance in demanding routing applications. It is suited for CNC routers and handheld routing setups used by woodworking and plastics fabrication professionals.
This bit is engineered for use in hard materials and acrylic, making it a practical choice for sign shops, plastics fabricators, and production CNC routing operations. The single-edge design allows aggressive chip evacuation at higher feed rates, which is especially useful when routing acrylic where heat buildup can cause melting and surface defects. The 1-3/8-inch shank length provides adequate grip in standard 1/4-inch collets. This bit is part of the ONSRUD 63-500 series.
Designed as a replacement or production-use bit for CNC routers and handheld routers equipped with a standard 1/4-inch collet. Part of the ONSRUD 63-500 series.
Installation should be performed by qualified CNC operators or woodworking professionals familiar with router tooling. Power down and fully de-energize the router spindle before changing bits. Insert the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the collet manufacturer's specified torque range using the appropriate collet wrench. Inspect the bit for chips or cracks before each use and do not operate at speeds exceeding the router manufacturer's rated RPM for the shank diameter.
