The ONSRUD 63-505 is a solid carbide spiral upcut router bit engineered for precision cutting in hard materials and acrylic. With a 0.0625 inch (1/16 inch) cutter diameter and a 0.25 inch length of cut, this bit is sized for fine detail work and narrow slot routing. The upcut flute geometry pulls chips up and away from the cut, helping maintain a clean kerf and reducing heat buildup at the tip. At 2 inches overall length with a 1/4 inch shank, it mounts in standard router collets used across CNC routers and handheld routing setups. The single-edge design is well suited for controlled material removal in demanding applications.
This bit is intended for use in acrylic and other hard materials where a clean, chip-free edge is critical. Typical applications include CNC routing of acrylic sheet, sign making, light-gauge hard plastics, and similar precision fabrication tasks. The right-hand cutting direction and upcut flute style make it a practical choice for through-cuts and slotting operations where chip evacuation from the workpiece surface is a priority. It is installed and used by CNC machine operators, sign fabricators, and skilled trade professionals working with plastic or hard composite materials.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use bit for CNC routers and handheld routing equipment fitted with a 1/4 inch collet. Part of the ONSRUD 63-500 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC operator or experienced routing technician. Power down and de-energize the router spindle completely before changing bits. Insert the shank fully into the collet to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth and tighten the collet nut with the appropriate collet wrench - do not overtighten or use makeshift tools. Always confirm spindle speed is appropriate for the cutter diameter and workpiece material before starting the cut.
