The ONSRUD 62-762 is a downcut spiral router bit machined from solid carbide for cutting plastics and engineered materials. The bit features a 0.125-inch cutter diameter, a 0.5-inch length of cut, and a 2-inch overall length with a 1/4-inch shank. The downcut single-edge geometry pushes chips downward during the cut, which reduces surface tearout and keeps the top face of the workpiece clean. At a 21-degree helix angle with right-hand cutting direction, the 62-762 is well suited for routing sheet stock and contoured profiles where finish quality on the top surface matters. Solid carbide construction provides edge retention and dimensional stability across extended production runs.
This bit is designed for use in CNC routers and handheld router applications where precision edge quality in thermoplastics is required. Rated material applications include ABS, acetal, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polystyrene, solid surfaces, and UHMW. The small 0.125-inch diameter makes this bit appropriate for tight-radius cuts, detail work, and thin-wall plastic profiles in both prototyping and production environments. It is part of the ONSRUD 62-750 series.
Rated for use in ABS, acetal, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, PE, PET, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polystyrene, solid surfaces, and UHMW. Part of the ONSRUD 62-750 series. Requires a router or CNC spindle with a 1/4-inch collet.
This bit is installed and serviced by machinists, CNC operators, and skilled woodworking or fabrication tradespeople. Always power down and lock out the router or CNC spindle before changing bits. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended depth before torquing - never bottom out the bit against the collet bore. Verify spindle speed is appropriate for the cutter diameter and material before starting a cut.
