The ONSRUD 62-733 is a downcut spiral router bit machined from solid carbide, designed for cutting hard materials including acrylic, nylon, PVC, polycarbonate, and solid surfaces. It features a single-edge, right-hand cutting geometry with a 21-degree helix angle that drives chips downward during the cut, reducing surface tear-out on the top face of the workpiece. The cutter diameter is 0.375 inches with a 1.125-inch length of cut, an overall length of 3 inches, and a 3/8-inch shank diameter. This bit is supplied uncoated and is intended for use in CNC routers and handheld router applications where clean top-surface finishes are required on plastic and composite materials.
The 62-733 is suited for fabrication shops, sign shops, and trade professionals routing acrylic sheet, PVC trim board, polycarbonate panels, nylon components, and solid surface material. The downcut flute style is particularly effective when top-face finish quality is critical, such as laminated panels or faced sheet goods where delamination or chipping at the entry edge must be minimized. The 1.875-inch shank length provides secure collet engagement across standard CNC and handheld router platforms.
Designed for use with acrylic, nylon, PVC, polycarbonate, and solid surface materials. Fits any CNC router or handheld router accepting a 3/8-inch collet. Part of the ONSRUD 62-700 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC operator or machinist following the router manufacturer's tooling guidelines. Ensure the router spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing bits. Insert the shank fully into the collet to the recommended depth and tighten to the collet manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate collet wrenches. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material before initiating a cut.
