The ONSRUD 62-718 is a single-edge downcut spiral router bit engineered for precision cutting in hard plastics and engineered materials. Manufactured from solid carbide, it delivers clean top-surface finishes by directing chips downward during the cut, which reduces lifting and delamination on the workpiece face. The cutter diameter is 0.1875 inches (3/16 inch) with a 0.625-inch length of cut, a 2-inch overall length, and a 1/4-inch shank diameter. A 21-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction are optimized for controlled, accurate passes in CNC router applications. This bit ships uncoated and is suited for production shops and fabrication professionals running automated routing equipment.
This bit is designed for CNC routing of hard materials including acrylic, nylon, PVC, polycarbonate, and solid surfaces. It fits standard 1/4-inch collet CNC routers used in fabrication, signage, and countertop shops. The downcut geometry is particularly effective when the top face of the workpiece must remain chip-free and tear-free, such as when routing finished acrylic panels or laminated sheet goods. It is part of the ONSRUD 62-700 series, which targets plastic and hard composite materials in production environments.
Designed for use with CNC routers equipped with a 1/4-inch collet. Rated for hard material applications including acrylic, nylon, PVC, polycarbonate, and solid surfaces as specified by the manufacturer. Part of the ONSRUD 62-700 series.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified CNC operator or machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out. Seat the 1/4-inch shank fully into the collet and tighten to the router manufacturer's specified torque range for the collet size. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each production run. Follow all applicable machine guarding and personal protective equipment requirements for CNC routing operations.
