The ONSRUD 62-715 is a downcut spiral router bit machined from solid carbide for cutting hard materials including acrylic, nylon, PVC, polycarbonate, and solid surfaces. It features a single-edge, right-hand cutting geometry with a 21-degree helix angle that pushes chips downward during the cut, reducing surface tearout on the top face of the workpiece. The cutter diameter is 0.1563 inches with a length of cut of 0.5625 inches and a 1/4-inch shank diameter. Overall length is 2 inches. The bit arrives uncoated and is part of the ONSRUD 62-700 series. It is intended for CNC router and handheld router applications in fabrication and production environments.
This bit is suited for routing thin or delicate hard materials where top-surface finish quality is a priority. Typical applications include cutting sheet acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC, nylon, and solid surface panels. The small cutter diameter makes it well-suited for narrow slots, detail cuts, and precision profiling. The 1.4375-inch shank length provides adequate grip in standard collet chucks. This bit is commonly used in sign fabrication, plastic fabrication, and light manufacturing shops running CNC routers or manual router tables.
Designed for use with materials including acrylic, nylon, PVC, polycarbonate, and solid surfaces. Accepts 1/4-inch collet chucks standard on CNC routers and handheld routers. Part of the ONSRUD 62-700 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the router spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the collet. Insert the shank fully into the collet to the depth recommended by the router manufacturer before tightening. Verify spindle RPM and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and cutter diameter before beginning the cut.
