The ONSRUD 62-631 is a solid carbide downcut spiral router bit designed for precise cutting in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials. It features a 0.5-inch cutter diameter, a 1.125-inch length of cut, and a 1/2-inch shank diameter with a shank length of 2.375 inches, giving a 3.5-inch overall length. The downcut flute geometry directs chips upward into the workpiece surface, reducing fraying and lifting on the top face - a critical advantage when surface finish matters. The single-edge, right-hand cutting configuration with a 22-degree helix angle delivers clean, controlled chip evacuation in aluminum applications.
This bit is suited for CNC router operations involving aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusion profiles in manufacturing, fabrication, and machine shop environments. Its solid carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance required for consistent performance in metal-cutting applications where high surface finish quality is the priority. It is sold as a single unit and belongs to the ONSRUD 62-600 Series of spiral router bits.
Designed for use in CNC routers equipped with 1/2-inch collets. Material application is specified for aluminum. Part of the ONSRUD 62-600 Series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the router spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut per the router manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting.
