The ONSRUD 62-610 is a single-edge downcut spiral router bit machined from solid carbide for cutting aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials. With a cutter diameter of 0.125 inches, a length of cut of 0.5 inches, and an overall length of 2 inches, this bit is built for precise, controlled routing in tight geometries. The downcut flute geometry drives chips downward, which helps hold the workpiece surface clean and reduces edge tearout on the top face. A 22-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction deliver smooth chip evacuation in aluminum applications.
This bit fits applications where surface finish on the top face of the workpiece is a priority. It is suited for CNC routing operations on aluminum sheet, plate, and extrusions in light manufacturing, fabrication shops, and production environments. The 0.25-inch shank diameter and 1.5-inch shank length are compatible with standard collet systems found on most CNC routers. The uncoated solid carbide construction is appropriate for aluminum, where coatings are often unnecessary and bare carbide provides adequate tool life with proper feeds and speeds.
Designed for use in CNC routers equipped with a 0.25-inch collet. Rated by the manufacturer for aluminum material applications. Part of the ONSRUD 62-600 series of downcut spiral router bits.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut per the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production run, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades cut quality in aluminum.
