The ONSRUD 60-271 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for high-performance material removal in routing and machining applications. Part of the 60-200 series, it features a three-edge, right-hand cutting geometry with a 10-degree helix angle that efficiently evacuates chips upward and away from the cut. The 0.75-inch cutter diameter and 2.125-inch length of cut make it well-suited for full-depth passes in a wide range of materials. At 5 inches overall length with a 0.75-inch shank diameter, this bit is compatible with standard router collets and CNC spindles. Licensed HVAC techs and trades are not the target here - this bit is installed and operated by CNC machinists, woodworking professionals, and fabricators working with routers and machining centers.
The ONSRUD 60-271 is intended for use with natural wood, composite plastics, solid-surface materials, and general plastics. Its upcut flute geometry pulls material out of the cut, reducing heat buildup and improving surface finish on through-cuts. The uncoated solid carbide construction suits shop environments where frequent tool changes and consistent edge sharpness are priorities. It is commonly deployed in production CNC routing, sign making, cabinetry, and countertop fabrication. The 2.875-inch shank length provides secure retention in standard collet chucks.
Designed for use with natural wood, composite plastics, solid surfaces, and plastics. Part of the ONSRUD 60-200 series. Fits standard 3/4-inch collet chucks on CNC routers and handheld routing equipment.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified CNC operators or machinists with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm collet condition before seating the shank - worn or contaminated collets reduce clamping force and can cause tool pullout. Do not exceed the manufacturer-rated feed rate or depth of cut for the material being routed. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and remove the bit from service at the first sign of chipping or edge degradation.
