The ONSRUD 60-249 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for high-performance cutting in composite plastics, natural wood, plastics, and solid surfaces. With a 0.5-inch cutter diameter and a 1.125-inch length of cut, this bit evacuates chips efficiently by pulling material upward, keeping the cutting zone clear during passes. The three-edge router style and 10-degree helix angle work together to produce clean, consistent cuts. Right-hand cutting direction is standard. The uncoated solid carbide construction delivers durability and edge retention across a wide range of routing applications. It is installed and used by CNC operators, woodworkers, and fabricators working with routers in production and job-shop environments.
The 60-249 is suited for routing operations in wood, composite panels, plastics, and solid surface materials where upward chip evacuation is needed to maintain cut quality. The 0.5-inch shank diameter fits standard collet systems on CNC routers and handheld router tables. With a 2.375-inch shank length and 3.5-inch overall length, this bit provides adequate reach for typical panel and sheet routing tasks. It is part of the ONSRUD 60-200 series, which is purpose-built for non-metallic and composite material cutting.
Designed for use with routing systems accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter collet. Rated for composite plastics, natural wood, plastics, and solid surfaces per manufacturer material application data. Part of the ONSRUD 60-200 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC technician or experienced router operator. Ensure the router spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the bit from the collet. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended insertion depth and torque the collet nut per the router manufacturer specifications. Inspect the bit for chipping or edge wear before each use, and never operate a damaged carbide bit.
