The ONSRUD 60-126MW is a solid carbide compression spiral router bit designed for clean, tear-out-free cuts in double-sided laminated and veneered panel materials. With a 0.375-inch cutter diameter and a 0.875-inch length of cut, this bit uses a three-edge, compression flute geometry that simultaneously shears upward from the bottom and downward from the top of the workpiece. The result is a finished edge on both faces of the panel in a single pass. The 3/8-inch shank seats securely in standard collets, and the uncoated solid carbide construction delivers consistent edge quality across production runs. Licensed CNC router operators and millwork professionals are the primary users of this tool.
This bit is engineered specifically for routing double-sided laminated sheet goods, veneered plywood, and similar composites where surface integrity on both faces is critical. Typical applications include cabinet door panels, furniture components, and architectural millwork panels. The compression geometry makes it well suited to CNC router tables running production panel work, where bottom and top face quality must both meet finished-goods standards without secondary sanding or edge treatment. The 3-inch overall length and 2.125-inch shank length provide adequate reach for standard panel thicknesses while maintaining rigidity in the cut.
Designed for use in double-sided laminated and veneered materials; part of the ONSRUD 60-100MW series. Fits any router collet accepting a 3/8-inch shank diameter.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the CNC router spindle fully powered down and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the router manufacturer's specified collet torque before running. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each production run, as damaged carbide edges on compression bits can cause sudden face delamination in laminated workpieces. This tool is intended for use by trained CNC router operators - do not use in handheld routers.
