The ONSRUD 56-652 is a 2-flute, square end, double edge straight router bit designed for cutting a wide range of plastic and thermoplastic materials. Built from solid carbide, it delivers consistent edge quality and extended tool life in production and job-shop environments. The bit features a 1/2 inch cutter diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length with a 1/2 inch shank diameter. The right-hand cutting geometry and straight flute design make it well-suited for routing clean, square slots and profiles in sheet and block plastic stock. It is typically installed and operated by CNC machinists, toolroom technicians, and production fabricators.
This router bit is intended for use on hard thermoplastics including ABS, Acetal, Acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, Polyethylene terephthalate, Polyvinylchloride, Polycarbonate, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, and UHMW. It is applicable in both production routing and custom fabrication scenarios where clean, burr-free cuts in plastic materials are required. The double edge design provides two usable cutting edges, which can extend the effective service interval between tool changes in high-cycle operations.
Part of the ONSRUD 56-600 series. Designed for use on ABS, Acetal, Acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, Polyethylene terephthalate, Polyvinylchloride, Polycarbonate, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, Polystyrene, and UHMW materials. Compatible with CNC routers and spindles accepting a 1/2 inch shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the router spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or changing the bit. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the manufacturer-recommended insertion depth before tightening. Follow the machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols for spindle speed and feed rate selection when routing plastic materials.
