The ONSRUD 56-614 is a 2-flute, square end, double edge router bit designed for precision cutting in a wide range of plastic and thermoplastic materials. Built from solid carbide, this bit measures 0.125 inches in cutter diameter with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 4 inch overall length. It accepts a 1/4 inch shank and runs a right-hand cutting direction. The straight flute geometry and square end profile make it well suited for profiling, slotting, and trimming operations where a clean, flat-bottomed cut is required. CNC router operators and production machinists are the primary installers of this tool class.
The 56-614 is engineered for use on hard plastic and thermoplastic sheet and block materials. Typical applications include routing and trimming of ABS, acetal, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and UHMW. It performs in both production CNC routing environments and manual router table setups where tight tolerances and clean edge finishes are needed on non-metallic workpieces. The small 0.125 inch diameter makes it particularly useful for detail work and narrow slot routing in plastic fabrication.
Designed for use on ABS, acetal, acrylic, HDPE, HIPS, polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, polycarbonate, polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and UHMW. Fits any router collet or toolholder accepting a 1/4 inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by CNC router operators or machining technicians. Power down and lock out the router spindle before inserting or removing the bit. Seat the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the router or toolholder manufacturer's specified clamping procedure. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as solid carbide bits can fracture if run after edge damage occurs.
