The ONSRUD 52-367 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for precise material removal in routing applications across woodworking and fabrication trades. With a 0.5 inch cutting diameter and a 2.125 inch length of cut, this bit provides significant depth capacity in a single pass. The double-edge, right-hand cutting geometry combined with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and clean wall finish. At 4 inches overall length with a 1/2 inch shank diameter, it mounts securely in standard router collets. Solid carbide construction delivers hardness and edge retention well beyond high-speed steel alternatives.
This bit is suited for production and job-shop routing of natural wood, plastics, solid surfaces, and wood composites. The upcut flute direction pulls chips up and out of the cut, keeping the kerf clear and reducing heat buildup at the cutting edge. It is commonly used in CNC router applications where consistent depth and sidewall quality are required. The 1-7/8 inch shank length provides adequate collet engagement for stable, chatter-free operation at typical spindle speeds.
Designed for use with routers accepting a 1/2 inch collet. Suitable for cutting natural wood, plastics, solid surfaces, and wood composites. Part of the ONSRUD 52-200 series.
Installation and bit changes must be performed with the router fully powered down and isolated from its power source. Insert the shank fully into the collet and tighten to the router or spindle manufacturer's specified engagement depth - minimum shank engagement is generally accepted as 3/4 inch for 1/2 inch shank tooling. CNC operators should verify spindle runout before use, as excessive runout accelerates carbide wear. Bit selection, speeds, and feeds should be validated against the specific material being routed.
