The ONSRUD 52-365L is a solid carbide spiral upcut router bit designed for precision material removal in routing applications across wood, plastics, and solid surface materials. With a 0.5-inch cutter diameter, a 1.625-inch length of cut, and a left-hand cutting direction, this bit evacuates chips upward while requiring correct spindle orientation to match its left-hand geometry. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and clean edge finishes. At 0.27 pounds, this bit is part of ONSRUD's 52-200 series and is manufactured from solid carbide for long tool life and wear resistance in production and shop environments.
This bit is suited for routing natural wood, wood composites, plastics, and solid surface materials in both shop and light production settings. The double-edge, upcut flute design is commonly used where chip clearing and surface finish on the workpiece bottom are priorities. CNC router operators and skilled woodworking machinists are the primary installers. The 0.5-inch shank diameter fits standard 1/2-inch collets on CNC routers and handheld router platforms configured for that collet size. Confirm spindle rotation direction before use - left-hand cutting bits require a clockwise-rotating spindle when viewed from the collet end.
Designed for use in CNC routers and handheld routers fitted with a 1/2-inch collet. Compatible with natural wood, wood composites, plastics, and solid surface materials as stated by the manufacturer. Part of the ONSRUD 52-200 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or experienced router operator. Confirm spindle rotation direction matches the left-hand cutting geometry of this bit before securing in the collet. Power down and lock out the router or CNC machine before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet to the recommended engagement depth and torque the collet nut per the router manufacturer's specification.
