The ONSRUD 52-300 is a solid carbide upcut spiral router bit designed for high-quality milling and routing operations in woodworking, plastic fabrication, and composite panel work. With a 5/16-inch (0.3125 inches) cutter diameter and a 1.125-inch length of cut, this double-edge bit produces clean through-cuts while evacuating chips upward and away from the workpiece. The 30-degree helix angle promotes smooth cutting action and reduces heat buildup in the cut zone. At 3 inches overall length and 0.1 pounds, it fits standard CNC routers and handheld router setups running right-hand rotation. The uncoated solid carbide construction delivers consistent edge retention across a range of non-ferrous materials.
This bit is suited for residential and light commercial fabrication environments where operators are cutting natural wood, plastics, solid surfaces, and wood composites. Typical applications include cabinet component profiling, sign-making, plastic sheet routing, and MDF panel work. The upcut flute geometry pulls material upward, making it a common choice for through-cuts on CNC routers where chip clearance at the table surface is a priority. The 1.875-inch shank length provides solid tool holding engagement in standard collet setups.
Designed for use in natural wood, plastics, solid surfaces, and wood composites. Compatible with routers accepting a 5/16-inch shank collet. Part of the ONSRUD 52-200 series.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC operator or machinist familiar with router tooling and collet systems. Ensure the router spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Insert the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet - do not extend the bit beyond the length of cut zone into the collet bore. Verify spindle RPM is set to the material-appropriate range per the tool manufacturer feed-and-speed charts before initiating a cut.
