The OLD WORLD AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCT DEF002 is a 2.5-gallon jug of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) formulated for use in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems on diesel engines. This fluid is a precisely balanced mixture of 32.5% high-purity synthetic urea and 67.5% deionized water. It functions as the primary reactant in SCR aftertreatment, converting nitrogen oxides (NOx) into harmless nitrogen and water vapor before they exit the exhaust stack. The fluid is stable, colorless, non-flammable, and non-toxic, and is classified as minimum risk for transportation. Diesel technicians, fleet maintenance crews, and commercial equipment operators rely on DEF to keep SCR-equipped vehicles in emissions compliance.
DEF002 is suited for use in on-highway and off-highway diesel applications equipped with SCR aftertreatment systems. This includes Class 6-8 trucks, agricultural equipment, construction machinery, and stationary diesel generators that require a DEF supply to meet EPA Tier 4 and similar emissions standards. The 2.5-gallon container size is practical for field service top-offs, shop inventory, and smaller fleet operations where bulk DEF storage is not available. Technicians servicing light and medium-duty diesel vehicles will also find this size convenient for maintaining DEF reservoir levels during routine service intervals.
Designed for use in Selective Catalytic Reduction systems on diesel engines where a DEF fluid conforming to ISO 22241-1 and API registration standards is required. Meets or exceeds OEM specifications for SCR aftertreatment systems.
DEF is added to a dedicated DEF reservoir — never to the diesel fuel tank or any other fluid system. Diesel technicians should use clean, DEF-compatible dispensing equipment to avoid contamination, as even small amounts of foreign material can damage SCR injectors and catalysts. Store DEF away from direct sunlight and in temperatures between 12 degrees F and 86 degrees F to preserve fluid integrity. Consult the vehicle or equipment manufacturer service manual for DEF fill intervals and reservoir capacity.
